Bartrams Travels p. 381 describes a Hydrangea quercifolia as new species describes large mock  flowers rising out of panicles of real small ones — composed of four crimson petals, of no sex but with 2, 3 or 4 papillæ a rudiment in centre. How curious!!! See Lindley.
