Beans radicles with Squares 1878 & 9
During last days of Dec. 78 sqrs were fixed with shell-lac on 3 Radicles, & only 1 was slightly deflected, though kept for 4 days & this was drawn by George
Jan 6th. 8º a.m. sqr fixed with gum to 1 rad, & with shell-lac to 3 others, at 4º 30, the one with gum slightly deflected
Jan 7' 8º a.m all very slightly deflected, sharp frost, yet pots kept on chimney piece; these beans were germinated in very wet damp red sand., the previous ones in saw-dust.
Jan 4º 30' curvature rather decreased
Jan 8th 8º a.m. curvature certainly decreased!
Altogether very little action
Must be season of year
