We have had wonderful week in weather & I feel almost quite right — the Downs beyond old Eastbourne are very charming. We went up there today & took a walklet —

R. & Hen spent Sat & Sunday & had a lovely day & she is staying on a little —

We are expecting a visit from At C. & Sophy soon after we return home & it wd be very nice if you cd come & meet them for part of the time; so don't fix till you hear again, unless indeed

you will give us a week or 10 days. I was in hope of hearing of poor Hemmings death; but on the contrary he is having a sort of rally, so that if you were inclined to write to Martha with a kind message to him; you wd not have to write as if he was dying & might give a little family news. He has fewer attacks of pain but v. bad nights.
