Hill, Richard. Spanish Town Jamaica. Richard Hill (1795-1872), Jamaican-born magistrate, planter and naturalist. Recorded in a list of names now in CUL-DAR206.34-35 which, as shown in John van Wyhe, Dispelling the darkness (2013), reveals that Darwin initiated the correspondence with Alfred Russel Wallace and that Darwin first told Wallace that he was working on evolution.
