July 14 Put stick to side of prolongation, where leaf joins it bent to that side nearly at ∟, & then relaxed its bending & bent downwards across slightly oblique stick — & the petioles came closer in contact with prolong, — This part at first formed upturned hook [sketch] Younger leaf
During 16, 17, 18 of July — youngest leaf folded in & embracing still younger leaves & axis, moved about in irregular course, not circles, yet hardly to light— in different directions on the 3 successive days
