April 30. 1856.
Hybrid fr Cock Red Runt & White Trumpeter, about 14-20 days old— apparently very large. with upper surface of back & upper surface of wings white tinged reddish, especially primaries.
Tail red, head, neck breast red. —
Stomach, thighs & under tail coverts white or almost so. — Tarsi & toes well feathered. — skin between toes & much between outer toes.
The oil-gland almost attached to middle tail-feathers & very large. —
May 4th. The 2d young one died feathered legged coloured much the same, but wings colour redder & all over redder.
