Darwin's "Descent of Man" has been translated into the Russian language. It has not yet been rendered into Chimpanzee, and will not be until Mr. Darwin receives assurances from the monkeys that they will not hurt him. He anticipates a storm of Simian indignation when the apes perceive his attempt to trace their remote ancestry to a contemptible mollusk.
