Dear Sir

The Birmingham Natural History and Microscopical Society, of which your illustrious father was first Hon Vice president, have passed an unanimous resolution expressing their deep sorrow of the irreparable loss to Science by his death

It is also my duty to convey to you this heavy sympathy in your bereavement and to hope that the [kindly] way in which your father is remembered may help you to sustain the very sad loss as called upon to bear.

I am, Dear Sir yours truly

John Sevill
