A printed note at the top states that all three items were given to Miss Berhiley-Hill by Emma Darwin on 17 December, 1885. The Eliot and Fry photographs are: left - studio portrait of Darwin in black jacket, c1880; right - Darwin on the Verandah at Down House in hat and cloak, c1881. The handwritten MS. in particularly degraded condition, typewritten MS faded, photo on left - emulsion crazed. Old paper label BL corner - 28. Frame 44.5 x 30 cm |
