Maggs, Catalogue no. 1050, item 59, 1984, offered a copy of F1457 with notes on publication dates and quantities for F1452 to 1455 and 1457. These are in the hand of W.H. Rutherford, Francis Darwin's amanuensis; they came from the books of Ursula Darwin. "Edit. 2000 published Nov 19. Murray's Sale. November 4 abt 2100 sold. Reprinted 1000. November 21 Murray telegraphs that 900 of reprint sold. Agreed to print 1000 more. Erratum p. 4. December 7. Agreed to print 5th Thousand. December 22. Agreed to print 6th Thousand. Dec 31 Agreed and ordered 2000 instead of a 6th thousand". These notes were for an eighth thousand which was never produced.
