1600 The appearance of the first volume of the comprehensive Correspondence and its companion Calendar in 1985 has put a different picture on the entries under this heading. It must be remembered however that the works in which letters had already appeared in print contain a great deal of related information which cannot be reprinted in the great work. The list given by De Beer in F1595 is however entirely superceeded by the comphrehensive list given in Appendix 11, Bibilography of works containing printed Darwin correspondence, pp. 586-589. The only works entered here are these two works and the Anton Dohrn letters in greater detail. |
