[85 'With an extra folding plate which seems to be an advert by Sowerby in his capacity as publisher for a work by Searles Valentine Wood. The caption in ink ms. reads "Sowerby's Fossils of British Strata. Crag, by S.V Wood Esq. F.G.S. 5/ each part, 4 plates, 100 figures, with descriptions" and with an address in ms. In the same hand bottom of plate "50 Great Russell St., Bloomsbury". This work never appeared but Wood did publish a monogrpah entitled "The Crag Mollusca" in 1848 under the aegis of the Palaeontographical Society; this has plates by Sowerby, and the plate here appears as plate 3 in this work, but with engraved captions added.' 'Green binding with first plate is uncoloured, no extra plate by Sowerby of shells, with the plates following the index unlike the standard edition.
