INSECTIVOROUS PLANTS. By Charles Darwin, M.A., F.R.S., &c. With Illustrations.

This book, which students and scholars, and cultivated people of all grades and classes have anxiously looked for, bears every indication of that keenness of sight, careful observation, lucid statement of facts, and calm and comprehensive summing up of results, that have made Mr. Darwin and his previous works so famous in all modern nations. The nature and variety of the experiments used for the purpose of determining the habits of the plants under consideration display marvelous ingenuity and resource. The book is not of as popular a nature as "The Descent of Man," but the general intelligent reader will find himself in the midst of such interesting information that he will, with the scholar who has devoted his days to similar studies, be greatly delighted and entertained. The illustrations are well and accurately done. The style of the book is uniform with Mr. Darwin's previous works. For sale by Claxton, Remsen & Haffelfinger.
