If anyone desires to see a hobby ridden to the death, let him read Mr. Darwin's "Biographical sketch of an infant," which appears in the current number of "Mind." It is a most amusing production. It would have been better if Mr. Darwin had brought up an infant ape in his house at the same time that he was studying the development of the infant, for then he might, as one of his critics says, have "discovered some more extraordinary marks of relationship between them, and have, perhaps, convinced the world that the monkey is father to the man." As it is, the world remains unconvinced.
