The Formation of Vegetable Mould through the Action of Worms, with Observations on their Habits. By Charles Darwin, LL.D., F.R.S. With illustrations. New York: D. Appleton & Co.

This book shows, like all the works of Mr. Darwin, that close and patient observation of nature which does such honor to scientific men. That such creatures as poor, despised worms should command our attention shows the enthusiasm of the genuine naturalist, and the beauty and fitness of the laws of God in the universe.
