Aberdeen, 27th. July 1882
Dear Sir,
Here is the letter that I had from your father in acknowledging my criticism in his work on "Expression".
I send also by same post a copy

of the critique itself.
I am not aware of possessing any other letter. If there was any note in connexion with that mysterious copy of Owen's Parthenogenesis, I have no recollection of it.
I am glad, however, to furnish you with

one example of your father's mode of receiving criticisms on his views: although, doubtless, you have many equally good.
