Report on Mr Huxley's paper on Crocodilia

In Mr Huxley's paper on the Crocodilia, the whole subject is thoroughly well considered, and elaborately worked onto the discovery of ventral dermal bones in two recent forms, analogous to those previously described by the same author, and published in the journal of the geological society as characterising the extinct genus Stagonolepis is highly interesting — The examination

of the relation between the dermal bones and the skin in which they are partially imbedded has thrown some light on this structure, although the application of the ordinary connective tissue to this part is perhaps scarcely sufficiently definitive — The classification of the whole order forms a valuable literature of this branch of zoology—

The paper is recommended to be printed in extenso in the Journal of Proceedings, with one or more woodcut illustration of the newly discovered dermal bones —
