My dear Sir

In accordance with yr. note in "Nature" & the "Academy", I send you six letters of your father's; though I am not at all sure that you will find anything in any of them worth publishing. Unfortunately the years is omitted in the date of most of them; but I think I could supply it if required. On the other side I have put down on occasions of their being written. Of course I shall value quickly having them back again.

I think Mr M'Lachlan

[13v]

told me that you [illeg] a recent photographic portrait of your father which you consider the best published. Can you tell me where I can procure it? I shall value a copy greatly.

Yours very truly

Alfred W. Bennett

F. Darwin Esq. M.A.

[13b]

Nos. 1, 2. Proposed call on me; showing his extraordinary courtesy in his intercourse with younger me, & appreciation of their work.

3. Review of "Insectivorous Plants" by me in "Nature", showing his humble estimate of his own work.

4. Questions Plants.

5. Cleistogamous Plants; paper by me in Journ. Linn. Soc.

6. Observations of mine on apparently digestive glands in Drosera & Pinguicula, published in Journ. Micros. Soc. which plainly appeared to me not to have been described in Darwin's "Insectivorous Plants".
