My dear Sir,
I herewith send you the two letters from your Father to myself — both relating to the death of my late brother-in-law, Professor Henslow — which were accidentally omitted at the time of copying the other letters I sent you before going to Lyndhurst.
I hope the whole together may be or service to you in the arduous task of putting together material for a biography of your Father.
From the great range of subjects

which he so closely studied, and to which he devoted his life, — along with his world-wide reputation, entailing, I should imagine, a most voluminous correspondence,— it must be difficult to select and determine what shall be published & what omitted. But the task could not be in better hands than yours. Wishing you all success, & most willing to render any further assistance in my power, or to reply to any further inquiries, believe me,
Sincerely your's,
Leonard Blomefield.Citation: John van Wyhe, ed. 2002-. The Complete Work of Charles Darwin Online. (http://darwin-online.org.uk/)
