This record book at Christ's College, Cambridge, records Darwin's weekly commons, buttery account and similar expenses in College. The book is bound in dark brown vellum. The label on the spine reads: 'Students' Bills 1821-1832'. Entries are written towards the spine on the verso and continued from the spine on the recto opposite. The financial quarter is recorded in the upper left corner. Names of students are in the far left corner. Where column headings were given on the page before Darwin's entry these are given above the Darwin page in the Image view.

[An Aegrotat was a medical certificate of illness. It is unclear if the Darwin referred to is Charles Darwin or his brother Erasmus Darwin who was a student at Christ's College before his brother.]

[Also tipped into this Record Book and scanned on this page is a printed Fellow's weekly bill sheet, the only one known to survive, for Rev. Edward Baines, with bills for "Commons and Cook Bread Butter Cheese Ale and Beer College Servants Chapel Fines Gate Fines Sundries".]
