This 380 x 560 mm (30 mm thick) volume has a modern binding with a brown spine; most of the front and back covers are red. Some of the 96 folios bear the watermark 'C. Wilmott 1816'. There is no inscription on the spine. On the front cover a black label with printed inscription reads: 'TUTORS ACCOUNTS 1822-1824 [sic]'. On the inside front cover, in pencil: 'T.11.26 Tutor's Accounts 1822-1829'. On the first page is written in ink: 'J. Shaw, Christ Coll. Cambridge 1822'. Joseph Shaw (1786-1859) was the Tutor of Christ's College when Darwin was admitted in October 1827 until 1829. Shaw was succeeded as Tutor by John Graham (1794-1865) in 1829. The pages are not numbered. The volume starts with accounts of Quarter to L. Day 1822. and ends with Christmas 1829.
