L perenne

Mr Meehan has stated before the Acad. of Science at Philadelphia that a single plant of L. perenne, which he transplanted from the state of Colorado into his garden at Philadelphia, seeded profusely, so that it cd not have been heterostyled in function. This statement led Sir J Hooker to examine the specimens of the species which he from Colorado & other districts which Meehan at Kew the [illeg] mountains [illeg] he finds that maybe normally Heterostyled the American form is less strongly …. than the [illeg] & that the stamen everywhere equal in some specimens: Micler finds.
