VIVISECTION.

TO THE EDITOR OT THE TIMES.

Sir,—It would be out of place in The Times to discuss the general question of vivisection; but, as Miss Cobbe, in her letter published to-day, seeks to cast a slur upon personal character of individuals, I will ask you to admit these few lines in yoru next issue.

Of Dr. Klein's practices I have not had experience, and, therefore, shall not undertake to defend them, although in common with every one who enjoys the privilege fo his acquintance, I cannot doubt that the impression which he has allowed to go forth concerning his own morality in this matter is scarcely less unjust to the cause of physiology than it is to himself. But, having had occasion to work in Professor Burdon Sanderson's laboratory for a long time past, and having, therefore, witnessed a greater number of his
