Bignonia unguis

Aug 31st I now see that tendrils act as first as mere grapnels & do not seize by sensitiveness; but ultimately the t 3 toes, after 2 or 3 days clasp right round so as point to interlock— the tarsus bends & even a trace of bending in upper part of footstalk of 2 leaflets. — Tendrils bear same relation to all other tendrils, as peduncle of leaves of Clematis to those of Tropæolum. —
