Roxburghia viridiflora folia (see Steudel)

Aug. 5'— only upper internode 3 inches long move; next internode though surmounted by very small open leaf did not move nor that below though young.— Movement reverse of watch. In Dic. Class. said to climb up low trees. —

It travelled a circle in about 24°; but the shoot then became nearly upright &. fresh internode began rapidly to grow, so that it hardly travelled 3/4 of next circle in 24°. — As the shoot travelled first semicircle in 10°, probably movement. retarded by my study. —

Aug 11th This plant will not climb!!!

― 26th This plant another branch has climbed nicely in proper course. —
