March 17' A central & upright shoot, younger than last & ∴ with next lower internode older, observed during 2 days only moved to & from (quickly from darkness.) window in rather irregular course — I doubt whether is a climber.—
(Does not climb.)
Ap. 22d. I put 5 inches of string (.82 gr) for 30° 24° on various parts of leaf & did not act, whereas the same on lower side of terminal leaflet, did act in few hours—
It is chiefly basal leaflet which are ternate
