July 19' Tendril of Echinocystis tied shoot so that t. depended 45° below horizon became horizontal in 1° & then began to move laterally & then oscillated — Lateral light no effect on rise — The case remarkable as showing that movement from stimulus from gravity stops spontaneous movement

as in one old account recovered position & began to revolve in 1° give this & other case as exceptional—
