Dec 6 1867 Hensleigh pointed at toad & it swelled till it was lifted on legs. See his Dict. [Dictionary of English Etymology, p. 403] in every language means swelling —
Æsops fable of swelling like an animal with the ox. Same principle effected by different means with Hair & feathers.
