The Barbary ape when pleased, chatter its jaws by spasmodic action like on chest— lips much retracted, in all ways & make peculiar noise — It was clear great zygomatic was contracted, & skin beneath eyes much wrinkled.— Both Keepers said certainly its laughter — I doubted & they told him to attack a large hated Entellus, & now he opened his mouth wider & kept it open, except as it made a barking noise.— canines more displayed ears not moved.—
