Apr 16th/68 The Cynocephalus anubis after being insulted & put into violent passion, when he made friends & shook hands with his Keeper, jabbers, & move up & down his jaws & lips.
It is form of laughing — man move in same spasmodic retracted manner his muscles of chest, but I think lower jaw quiver a little, a mere vestige of old movement.—
