Potatoes used round red & long white, he produced long red when resembling white ones in shape of their eyes.

Long red potato grafted onto Round White
In 18 experiments he got "numerous" white quite reddened long potatoes resembling the red ones very marly in former gestalt
Reuter in another series grafted small red kind on white round. In one case out of 40 he got intermediate tubers; these were white tubers with red "eye-fields" resembling the red kind in shape
