Sugar Cane
I would especially call your attention to a cane in which the Ribbon Cane has sported into a perfectly green cane and a perfectly red cane from the same head. I verified this myself on the spot as an old and experienced Cane planter, and the canes were virgin with only one head in each hole. I saw as least two hundred instances … on the same [plantation]
