In Introduction — about man causing variability say that man have seldom or never expressed [text destroyed] for to express purpose of causing variability, which results from laws over which he has in contact & which he does not understand — [insertion:] Man can be only be said to [consciously] as when a man removes a support & a body fall, though gravity causes it to fall.
