A man in a passion or fray has in former animal state always fought in day then with consequent violent exercise all his muscles used his heart beat quickly & violently, he breathes laboriously, the blood rushes to the surface — he concentrates his attention & frowns — but he check striking a blow or even may, but thru parts of his [frame] which are least under the will state obey the impulse & action
(So that we must begin by heredity common movements — starting (reflex action?) — We get into any habit, of putting out our arm when falling — guard a poke in ribs — wrinkling the eyes — clacking in horror if he trips
