July 1/67/ The Boys & girls squeezed eyes voluntarily for long time & some moisture came into eyes with George alone. Eyes of others looked red ─ Voluntary action does not suffice ─ Strong yawning will bring tears. All have say in bed vomiting tears flow ─ The muscle of lid, I think, are involuntary ─ no doubt action of these muscles are partly involuntary ─ Possibly rather different fasciæ are acted on by involuntary spasm than by voluntary will. ─
