I think it a proof, that a species from very closely allied, as P. Santo species, would not tend to spread in Madeira, so much as a considerably different form, is the fact, that of introduced plants, the proportion of genera is according to A. Decandolle very large to species (This bears on peopling of islands) even when not well stocked
