It is curious corelation of growth — small frontal bone, no core, no horn, in polled oxen.

Compare shepherd dogs tail, bones & muscles with those monkeys which have stumpy tails.

Compare pigs with solid hoofs — with horses— we see meaning of toes in former when we see abortive anthers in thyme — spines in plum — wings of tame duck, compare with Steamer — stump on polled ox — toes in solid hoofed pig— & meet analogous abortive or useless structures in wild species, we ought at least to have some solid reason for rejecting the analogical explanation — I do not say it is right one. — (Are there natural hornless antelopes to compare with hornless sheep.— ?)
