Sept. 47/ Falconer showed me splendid series of Radius & Ulna from Camel, where represented by two holes at each end, to Camel where Sivatterium, Giraffe, where the middle was like a ribbon of bone glued on – to Ox – Now a fossil Giraffe has same ribbon, so that abortive part, here constant in different fauna in different time (nevertheless perhaps variable in itself.)

This is against law of abortion of any part not useful.
