Dans une lettre qu'il a adressée à l'Academie royale de médecine, M. Rousseau dit avoir observé que , quatre à cinq jours avant sa naissance, le cochon d'Inde perd sa premiere dent
molaire, qui est absorbée dans I'utérus de la mère, d'ou il sort avec des dents déjà assez fortes, d'ailleurs, pour qu'il puisse ronger immédiatement. (Bull. de la Soc. philom., oct. 1813, p. 157.)]
