Hearne's Travels

p. 376. The Jackash refers to Pennant N. Zoology or lesser otter of Canada vary much in size & colour are extraordinarily easily domesticated & are very troublesome from fondling their master so much Common Otter is very fond of play & goes to top of snow ridges & rolls down. The otter like one of the grouse dives in the snow.
