a difficulty put I think by Bowen & Lowell, about instinct & structure saying together not entirely on instinct changing suddenly— no doubt they change as gradually as the structure, which changes first, cannot be known— instincts changed, as an insect feeding on Exotic plants might lead to corresponding changed structure— or change of structure might enable an insect to suck exotic flower— as is case of var. of Elephant changes in form of tusks leads to peculiar manner of attack of tiger.
