Mistakes of Instinct Ch 10.
Wonderful as Hive-Bees, instinct & aided by reason yet, makes mistake. I have seen comb 2 or 3 inches away made under board of Hive whence swarm was to proceed, hence clearly useless— Huber saw as Bees begin a cell in wrong direction & as often tear it to pieces.— I have seen a piece of horizontal comb made & then all removed. In my account of cells I have specified some other mistakes.
