Mr G. A Rowell in comm. to Ashmolean Soc. Nov. 12. 1861 describes Bees sting as tube & doubts whether dart penetrate — catch wasp & with lens examine act of stinging — He describes sting as tubular sheath with oblique orifice!!— Doubts whether sting is does stick in wound: I had one in my tongue, & caution always given to remove sting.

One is cautioned always use certain gloves, as avoid injury to Bees, from sting sticking in.— Ch X
