Witness Newspaper. Jan 3d. 1855.— Letter signed J. W. (James Wilson) Woodville on the origins of the Dog.— Says Buffon in Suppl. vol 7. allows Wolf & dog to be fertile & F. Cuvier carried on breeding of these Hybrids themselves to 3d & 4th generation.
