A leading character of volcanic islds is isolation — look over whole ocean, & cause is that they are due to elevation, therefore if Tristan d'Acunha, Kerguelen Land, Auckland & Campbell had been formed of any other rock besides volcanic, there might have been some argument for connections; so with Azores & Madeira.
