Undoubtedly large genera are partly large because they are widely distributed & have representative species in different countries. But I can see no reason why in genus having 60 species if ten widely range, why 1 in a genus having six species shd. not range, but such is not ordinarily the case. The genus is large because it is fitted to existing conditions & hence spreads, & hence multiplies.—
