Feb 55/

Carp (Yarrell & Gould) are caught by hook baited by green Peas, but then has great [grisden], so has [illeg] , but oats sometimes pass uninjured. Minnows eat crumbs of bread & boiled rice-grains. Barbel examined closely rice — Cocculus indicus is it given in grains? Sea-Eagles, stomach wd cast up certainly seed. Herons eat & probably wd pass through Dung. Kingfishers might be killed by Hawk or carry fish for their young to eat. Water baited by throwing in grains & pellets of bran & dough. (Walton)

Henslow says he has seen by Missel Thrushes' nest plenty ofmisseltoe seeds which have passed through intestines of young thinks propagated by seeds sticking to beaks.
