May 5th. 1855 Gave Gold Fish at Zoolog. Gardens Canary, Millet, Lettuce, Cabbage, Linseed Barley onion — They took these in mouth & kept them for some seconds 1/2 minute & then rejected them with force. The seeds had soaked 28 hours. I cd not get other fish to try, I noticed they cracked the onion seed.—
