Has been several times told Fish appear in the Tanks in a wonderful manner in India after having been dried up, & Yarrell thought the one might be dried in mud. But Sir Proby Cautley tells me once was walking over the damp mud at bottom of dried tank & found two fish of considerable size quite alive.

A bird feeding on or diving amongst spawn might have some adhere to beak legs or plunge, & be suddenly sprung before time to clean feathers.— Royle knew about Fish falling on Roofs.—
