Hooker's argument on Harmonies, versus accidental dispersal in contradiction to continuous land, seems to rest chiefly not on harmonies — but on difficulties, viz not account for Anacharis not having come from N. America &c. And on commonest plants not being most generally diffused; is this true. On Prunella vulgaris common in Australia & not in New Zealand.
